Bridge Approach Mudjacking Project

This project was located on the 151 Bypass in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.  The construction of a bridge overpass involved mounding up fill to create a ramp that leads to the bridge.  As traffic passes on this bridge the vibration of the traffic passing causes this fill to settle.  Even though rebar is installed to hold the deck level with the approach this can bend without any support form bellow.

A sand based portland cement infused slurry was used to support the bridge approach and raise it back to level.  More commonly these types of projects are calling for polyurethane material to be used as the lightweight material will not lose density and adds less weight to the fill beneath than mudjacking material would.  For more information on polyurethane foam or to request technical specifications <<click here>>.
